Challenge #246

Good day to everyone!  Winter has definitely settled in here and we have a foot of snow on the ground. Perfect weather for crafting and getting holiday cards ready.

Our photo this week is a closeup of a blue jay feather my husband brought in from the back yard.
We feed the birds year round and in winter there are several jays which come around for seed.

Our top three from challenge #244 are as follows (in no particular order):

Congratulations, ladies, and thank you to everyone who participated in challenge #244.

Now for our sketch for this week (courtesy of Kaylin):
The twist/theme is: Christmas Colours/Peace On Earth
Feel free to use either theme or to use one of your own.  It is up to you.
Here are the samples our team created to inspire you:

I am sure that these gorgeous cards will inspire you to get working on your holiday cards (if you haven't already).  Thanks to the team for some amazing inspirations and for their beautiful creations.

Remember, you can enter this challenge below or as a comment on our Facebook page, use any medium or supplies and you have two weeks to enter.  Happy crafting, all!

Challenge #245

Good day!  Thank you so much for stopping by.

As usual, we will begin with our photo of the week:
I took this the other day, just before we cut down the last of the sunflower stalks in our garden.  We leave them up until there are no seeds left as the birds peck at them until they are bare.

Now, on to our top cards from challenge #243.  Here they are(in no particular order):

Beautiful, ladies!  Congrats on making our top three and a big thank you to everyone who joined in - both here and on our Facebook page.

And now....our main event.  This week's sketch is courtesy of Kaylin and the twist (if you choose to use it) is SNOWFLAKES.  As always, our challenge runs for two weeks and you can enter here or on our Facebook page.

And the inspirations from the talented ladies n our team:

Wow! Absolutely gorgeous cards, ladies!  I know that they will inspire our viewers to get out their supplies and join in the fun.  I am certain there will be lots of entries for this challenge.

Challenge #244

Hello and welcome to all!  The holiday season is such a busy time of year but I hope you can find the time to do some crafting and get your seasonal cards done at the same time.  And I am sure our sketches over the next few weeks will give you the inspiration you need.   So come on, lets make some cards.

First, before we start, here is our photo for the week...  a fungus from our driveway (shot at ground level).

Our top three from challenge #242....Unfortunately, we only had three entries so I would love to give a shout out to them:

Thank you, ladies, for the great cards!  Three entirely unique takes on the sketch.

Now, for the main event...Sketch # 244 (courtesy of Kaylin).  I just love this sketch and I hope you do to.
And, if you want to use a creative twist, try to incorporate glitter somewhere on your card.
Here are the samples from our talented team:

Great cards from the team!  Each one so different from the rest.  I am sure you are inspired by them and I am excited to see what you come up with!

Our challenges run for two weeks and you can enter as a linky below or as a comment to the post on our Facebook page.  Just a note, when you are linking a card, be sure to link it to your blog or Facebook page and not back to our site and please, if you are entering a card, be sure I can download it from your site as a thumbnail never turns out clear.   Thanks to all who participate and happy cardmaking to you!

Challenge #243

Hello all!  Welcome to Try Stampin' - Or Not. For anyone new to our site, we are happy to have you join us ...And to our regular followers, thank you so much for coming back.

Our photo this week is one of a red-headed woodpecker on our neighbour's clothes line pole.  It is not the best photo but I had no time to think -just grab the camera and shoot.

On to the top 3 for challenge # 241....

Teresa (from Facebook)

In addition, there was a beautiful card which I had chosen for the top three but the designer linked it back to our blog and I had no email or blog address for her. As well, it would only open in a small thumbnail.  Here it is:
Pat

Just a reminder to link to either your facebook page or your blog so we can recognize your beautiful work.

Our sketch this week is courtesy of Kaylin and the technique (if you choose to use it) is to add ribbon to your card.

Here are the designs our team came up with:

Wow! Great cards and great interpretations of our sketch!  Thanks, designers, for yet another beautiful set of inspirations.

Remember, we would love to see your cards so either post them below or on our Facebook page.  No need to hurray .. our challenges last for two full weeks.

I hope everyone has fun crafting this week!
